UL’S INSPECTION CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
UL has been testing and certifying lightning protection equipment since 1908 and is a nationally recognized testing agency(NRTL) offering Master Label® Certificate inspections for lightning protection systems. UL issues inspection certificates for systems by inspecting system components and checking completed installations. Installations are required to comply with UL’s internationally recognized Standards for lightning protection systems. Manufacturers, suppliers and installers demonstrate their commitment to safety by building, selling and installing only those lightning protection products that pass UL’s rigorous testing.

The Lightning Protection Institute (LPI) is a not-for-profit nationwide group founded in 1955 to promote lightning safety, protection and education. LPI is dedicated to ensuring that today’s lightning protection systems maintain the best possible quality in design, materials and installation. We support lightning protection in accordance with National Safety Standards of NFPA 780 and UL96A and the promotion of quality control and assurance through third-party inspection. Our mission is to protect precious lives and property from the damaging and costly effects of one of nature’s most destructive and deadly perils.
